Sumi Zushi is a painter of the figure and landscape. Born in Japan and raised in the United Kingdom, she previously practiced architecture while continuing to develop her artistic work independently. She is currently enrolled in the Advanced Fine Art Program at Studio Incamminati.

Sumi is inspired by the energy, structure, and character of the human figure. In the natural world, she is deeply influenced by the changing qualities of light and colour, and by the patterns and rhythms they create.

She has painted in diverse environments, including the late autumn landscapes of Vermont, the winter snow of Northern Ontario, and the cherry blossom season in Japan.

Her work has been exhibited internationally in Toronto, London, and Tokyo.
